The Balanced Chef was founded in 2015 with a mission to spread passion for healthy, great tasting food, and make eating well a simple endeavor. What started out as selling homemade gluten-free granola and banana breads at a local CrossFit gym has manifested and transformed into a full-service meal production company; with a NEW storefront in Downtown Rome, offering healthy and delicious chef crafted and dietician approved ready-to-eat meals, online ordering with a weekly changing menu, a multitude of local pick-up locations, home delivery and catering services! Not to mention the coolest, hippest, and best-looking team around!
Founder and CEO, Brian Donovan, or “Chef” as he is endearingly known as, noticed there was a massive gap in the food service industry for consumers who were looking to live a healthy lifestyle and eat nutritious foods, but they didn’t have the time, resources, or knowledge on how to do so successfully. With his passion for cooking healthy dishes and educating his peers on proper nutrition and a balanced diet, Chef Brian saw this as a tremendous opportunity.
We live in a society where being “busy” is an understatement, where everyone juggles multiple careers, kids, pets, sports, commitments, and responsibilities. Time is always of the essence. Chef Brian wanted to offer the element of convenience and time-saving techniques to his customers. Each week, The Balanced Chef offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, protein-only, carb-only, and veggie-only dishes available for online ordering, local pick-up, or home delivery. The real genius lies in the shelf-life of the delicious meals- amazingly 8-10 days due to our state-of-the-art sealant technology and innovative, culinary advancements.

Brian is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America. He started The Balanced Chef in January of 2015. He’s been working in the industry for over 20 years.
